Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, CA. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies and procedures, and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients.
  • Support daily healthcare operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Address ongoing patient needs and work with the healthcare team to promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners (BVNPTE).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and support.
