We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies and procedures, and regulations in a variety of correctional health care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients
- Ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients
- Provide support to the care team for daily health care operations
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team
- Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE
- Completion of the Psychiatric Technician curriculum accredited by the BVNPTE
- Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional health care environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
