Job Title: Psychiatric Technician (Safety)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician (Safety) to join our team at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, CA. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies and procedures, and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients.
  • Provide support to the care team for daily healthcare operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Address the ongoing needs of patients, work with the members of the larger healthcare team, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
