Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Rivers Casino. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our food preparation and storage areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and Maintenance: Ensure the dishwashing area is properly set up with racks, chemicals, supplies, and carts.
  • Food Preparation: Scrape food from dirty dishes, place tableware in racks or on conveyor to the dishwashing machine, and wash pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen or beverage areas as needed, and maintain the can wash area on the loading dock in a sanitary and neat condition.
  • Waste Management: Segregate and remove trash and garbage, and place it in designated containers.
  • Supply Management: Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, and organize china, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment, and utensils and supplies.
  • Quality Control: Follow sanitation and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience and Training: Six months or more related experience or training is preferred.
  • Licensing: Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to see, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Environmental Factors: Frequently required to stoop, crouch, or kneel. Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor. Exposure to high noise levels.
