About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Advocate to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, administrators, and community partners to develop and implement health programs that promote student well-being and academic success. This includes providing health education, conducting screenings and assessments, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure students receive necessary medical attention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement school health programs that align with district policies and state guidelines
  • Provide health education to students, parents, and staff on various topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Conduct regular screenings and assessments to identify potential health issues and refer students to appropriate resources
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure students receive necessary medical attention and follow-up care
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and community partners to support student health and wellness initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student health data and program outcomes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field; ADN with three years of experience and current enrollment in BSN Program acceptable
  • Valid New Mexico Nursing license (700, 701, 702, or 703) and State Department of Education School Nurse license required
  • CPR certification and one year of experience in nursing or community nursing preferred

Estimated Salary Range:$54,000 - $70,000 per year
