Job Summary

Serves as a lead for front office activity, directing patient flow processes at the physician office. Performs patient check-in and appointment scheduling as assigned. Supports Central Billing Office by maintaining patient financial records at the office. Provides closure to patient visits. May support the office as a switchboard operator as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handles telephone calls from patients, forwarding calls requiring triage.
  • Performs receptionist duties.
  • Verifies health insurance payment information and educates patients on applicable regulations. Collects payments and records data.
  • Charge entry, including assigning diagnostic codes and entering all physician-related and clinic charges.
  • Coordinates information with Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected.
  • Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree.
  • < 2 Years' Experience.
  • CHAA License/Certification.

Work Environment

Day Shift (United States of America).
