Job Summary:

As a Patient Service Representative at Chase Brexton Health Care, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient services. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the daily activities of the organization, including filing, telephone coverage, patient registration, and referrals as needed.

Key Responsibilities:Communication:
  • Respond to patient inquiries, direct callers to the appropriate area, or initiate triage slips for medical personnel response.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and directing patients, salespeople, and visitors with courtesy and discretion.
  • Effectively manage calls and handle patient requests and complaints.
  • Verify patient information, including insurance co-pays, deductibles, and other insurance-related details.
  • Detect and correct errors, complete forms, obtain necessary information, and maintain logs and files.
Workplace Computers and Equipment:
  • Register patients, verify their records, and update information in the computer system.
  • Accurately enter confidential patient information, including personal health and financial details, into the computer system.
  • Manage files, initiate and respond to record requests, photocopy records, and send/receive information via fax or email, ensuring compliance with medical records laws.
  • Work with walk-in patients to schedule appointments.
Compliance, Quality, and Policy:
  • Comply with federal and local patient privacy laws.
  • Verify patient and/or guardian identification.
Checking, Examining, and Recording:
  • Collect and apply patient payments, adjustments, and reconcile daily cash reports.
Teamwork:
  • Assist in coverage for other areas as needed.
  • Perform other tasks under the direction of the lead PSR and/or Director of Operations.
  • Maintain open relationships and communication with coworkers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
