Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other talented editors and news designers to create engaging story presentation and respond to breaking news.
  • Work with the editorial team to shape the New York Times report into a package that best serves our print readers.
  • Develop and implement effective copy-editing strategies to ensure high-quality content.
  • Assist in the creation of inviting print presentations, including headlines, captions, and display type.
  • Work closely with the production team to meet production requirements and ensure efficient proofing of pages.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in print journalism.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a newsroom environment.
  • Excellent news judgment and copy-editing skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening/night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong understanding of digital content adaptation for print audiences.
  • Knowledge of print display type and digital/SEO-driven display type.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with a variety of subject areas, including international, business, and other reporting desks.
  • Desire to stay in this position for at least 2 years.
