Job OverviewThe role entails executing technical responsibilities associated with the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of automated valve systems, both electrical and pneumatic.
Safety ResponsibilitiesDaily tasks include operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, while ensuring a clean and organized workspace. The technician is expected to assemble actuators comprehensively and prepare them for shipment.
Key Responsibilities- Procure stock and components for the assembly and dispatch of customer orders.
- Conduct inspections on all materials to confirm compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Document any non-conforming materials and necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records to certify compliance with product specifications.
- Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic automated systems.
- Perform assembly tasks on various electric and pneumatic systems.
- Assist the project team with pre-installation inspections.
- Act as a liaison for technical and quality concerns with local sales representatives.
- Report customer feedback and technical issues to the sales team.
- Facilitate communication between the sales office and warehouse to ensure timely deliveries.
- Foster effective working relationships with manufacturers and both internal and external customers through professional communication.
- Maintain availability to assist the Branch Manager as required.
- Mount actuators to valves and perform modifications as needed.
- Calibrate basic accessories such as limit switches and solenoids.
- Construct panels for accessory mounting.
- Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Utilize basic electrical wiring knowledge.
- Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.
- Prioritize safety and health by reporting any workplace hazards or incidents promptly.
Applicants should possess a combination of education and experience that equips them with the necessary skills to fulfill the essential duties of the position.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
- One year of mechanical experience.
- Two years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of products and processes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of gears, bearings, and moving parts.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and electrical tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate standard hand and power tools.
- Proficient typing and computer skills, including MS Office.
- Ability to learn and adapt to MRC Global's warehouse processes and software.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and P.I.D.s.
Must provide documentation verifying legal work status and demonstrate proficiency in English for effective communication and understanding of safety instructions.
