Faculty Group Practice CAT Scan Technologist Manhattan

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Manhattan. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiographic and CT procedures as prescribed by physicians
- Utilize computerized tomography CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues
- Accurately interpret physician's scanning instructions and administer contrast materials as needed
- Prepare and operate the CT scan equipment to capture the appropriate images
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, and follow appropriate procedures accordingly
- Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient and review patients' requisitions to understand the type of exam required
- Follow accepted radiologic procedures and use medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examination
- Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols
- Recognize the need for and follow isolation precautions
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards
- Explain the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly
- Solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation
- Alter examination to maximize information in response to patients' condition
- Confers with other technologists concerning previous approaches utilized
- Demonstrate skill in equipment setup, utilization, and proper maintenance procedure
- Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment
- Use imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner in accordance with prescribed hospital departmental and manufacturers' procedures
- Observe and report any malfunctioning of the equipment and notify appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment
- Technical Diploma or Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Advanced Certification in CT required within one year of hire or transfer
- New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification Part 89 Section 89-40 required within one year of hire or transfer
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $101,861.76 - $112,461.76 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
