Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Mechanic Specialist

Job Summary:

The Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Mechanic Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing medium to heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. This role involves overhauling engines, conducting preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting various vehicle systems.

About the Role:

• Oversee the repair and maintenance of fleet diesel equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair complex issues with medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles.
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Collaborate with other Mechanics to ensure efficient workflow and shared knowledge.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
2. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components to ensure proper functioning.
3. Ensure equipment meets regulatory requirements prior to operation.
4. Train junior Mechanics on best practices and procedures.
5. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Mechanic Specialist with:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.

Salary:

An estimated salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
