Job Title: Grants Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Grants Coordinator to join our team at the City of North Miami Beach, FL.

Job Summary:

The Grants Coordinator will be responsible for researching, developing, and monitoring grants to support the City's programs and initiatives. This includes coordinating grant applications, preparing grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant contracts and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on available government, corporate, and private foundation grants
  • Coordinate and assist with grant applications, proposals, and grant budgets
  • Prepare agenda items for City Commission consideration regarding grant applications
  • Assist in monitoring grant fiscal records for compliance with local, state, and federal policies and grant contracts
  • Implement and maintain automated tracking of grant status for auditing and budgeting purposes
  • Coordinate and secure cooperative efforts from other governmental agencies and community organizations
  • Prepare interagency agreements for review by the City Attorney's Office and approval by the City Commission
  • Manage The Children's Trust grant and grant resources, including reviewing program staff duties, ensuring accuracy and completeness of program participants' files, and conducting on-site monitoring visits
  • Attend meetings involving joint venture grants and act as the City liaison with other agencies and community organizations
  • Collect data and evaluation information on all grants to determine the effectiveness of each program
  • Perform evaluations on each grant received and develop performance standards to ensure compliance with program goals and requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • Three (3) years grant development experience with a proven record of results-oriented grant writing, policy, program development, and contract funding
  • Knowledge of grant processes, including accounting and financial reporting
  • Proficient in the use of financial management software, including databases and spreadsheets
  • Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements, submissions, and budget projections
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff, both orally and in writing
