Construction Materials Testing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team at Olsson. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects.
Your primary responsibility will be to collect construction materials samples from various construction sites and perform tests and inspections to assess the properties and integrity of those materials. You will use specialized equipment and follow established procedures and standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.
As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will also be responsible for documenting your findings and communicating results to project managers and other stakeholders. This will involve facilitating informed decision-making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.
You will work independently, but also as part of a team, to ensure that all construction materials meet the required standards. You will be required to travel to various job sites and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
Responsibilities- Collect construction materials samples from various construction sites
- Perform tests and inspections to assess the properties and integrity of construction materials
- Use specialized equipment and follow established procedures and standards
- Document findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders
- Facilitate informed decision-making and maintain the structural integrity and safety of construction projects
- 3+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, testing, or a related field
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Associate degree from a technical or four-year school, preferred but not required
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, International Code Council (ICC) Nuclear Gauge, or applicable Department of Transportation/Road certifications, preferred but not required
