Job Summary

Giesecke+Devrient is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to oversee the card body manufacturing process. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products while meeting production and shipping schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and operate within a staffing and expense budget.
  • Manage all card body personnel, ensuring staff coverage to meet production schedules.
  • Request necessary supplies to maintain uninterrupted operation of the card body department.
  • Ensure equipment is available for scheduled maintenance and that production areas are clean and organized.
  • Establish, implement, and report metrics for departmental performance and staff.
  • Develop a training regimen for all staff members and positions.
  • Ensure departmental KPIs are within company and corporate expectations.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the department.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
  • Interface with internal QM and suppliers concerning problems with quality control and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
Accountabilities
  • Quality of finished goods.
  • Meeting production and shipping schedules.
  • Compliance with and attainment of departmental KPIs.
  • Maintaining and achieving scrap reduction goals.
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance.
  • Workforce training and development.
  • General maintenance and performance of the department.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree (engineering or technical degree preferred) or relevant work experience in lieu of.
  • Minimum 10 years in manufacturing.
  • 2 years' experience in card manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Knowledge of theory and principles of lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Above-average mechanical knowledge of production equipment.
  • Proficient in long-term, mid-range, and micro-scheduling.
  • Above-average computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Understanding of general safety requirements.
