Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee rail shipments to guarantee timely delivery and proactively address any potential delays or complications.
  • Diagnose and resolve logistical challenges associated with rail transport, including issues related to delays, damages, or other interruptions.
  • Maintain precise records of the railcar fleet across both internal and external systems.
  • Generate and distribute fleet activity reports to relevant stakeholders on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, railroads, and service providers to troubleshoot railcar delays stemming from incorrect orders, billing discrepancies, overloads, misroutes, and railroad errors.
  • Audit, process, and settle rail freight invoices efficiently.
  • Support the Logistics Manager with additional rail-related tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree; or two or more years of relevant experience in rail logistics or the scrap metal processing sector; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically through complex processes and adhere to instructions.
  • Willingness to be on call as required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Completion of pre-employment background checks, physical assessments, and drug screenings is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
