Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee rail shipments to guarantee timely delivery and proactively address any potential delays or complications.
- Diagnose and resolve logistical challenges associated with rail transport, including issues related to delays, damages, or other interruptions.
- Maintain precise records of the railcar fleet across both internal and external systems.
- Generate and distribute fleet activity reports to relevant stakeholders on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Collaborate with internal teams, railroads, and service providers to troubleshoot railcar delays stemming from incorrect orders, billing discrepancies, overloads, misroutes, and railroad errors.
- Audit, process, and settle rail freight invoices efficiently.
- Support the Logistics Manager with additional rail-related tasks as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or associate degree; or two or more years of relevant experience in rail logistics or the scrap metal processing sector; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with accounting principles.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically through complex processes and adhere to instructions.
- Willingness to be on call as required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Completion of pre-employment background checks, physical assessments, and drug screenings is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
