ASM Global is seeking a skilled Banquet Server to join our team at Savor, the exclusive Food & Beverage provider at The Hampton Roads Convention Center. As a Banquet Server, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the success of events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to work in proper uniform and follow instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
  • Assist with collecting and preparing banquet equipment, including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces.
  • Prepare tables with place settings as instructed and attend pre-function meetings for event briefings.
  • Provide friendly and courteous customer service at all times and remain at assigned stations to perform duties as assigned.
  • Report any customer concerns or complaints to the Banquet Captain and break down tables and banquet equipment after each event.
  • Adhere to strict grooming standards and policies of the company and follow service standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) months' work experience in a service-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of catering services and terminology, strong guest service skills, and ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner.
  • Flexible schedule to cover events and ability to work inside or outside of the building as needed.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing for long hours during events, talking and hearing, performing repetitive eye/hand coordination, daily lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. above shoulder level for up to 5 minutes at a time, and constant standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and handling objects.
