Banquet Server

ASM Global, a leading provider of public assembly facilities, is seeking a skilled Banquet Server to join their team at Savor, the exclusive Food & Beverage provider at The Hampton Roads Convention Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend pre-function meetings to receive event details and instructions.
• Prepare and set up event rooms, including tables with place settings, as directed by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for guests.
• Assist with collecting and cleaning banquet equipment, including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces.
• Participate in the preparation and presentation of events, including garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.
• Break down tables and banquet equipment after each event, and clean and return serving pieces to their designated storage area.
• Adhere to strict grooming standards and policies of the company.
• Follow service standards, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum of six (6) months' work experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of catering services and terminology.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner.
• Flexibility to cover events as needed.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include regular movement around the facility, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. above shoulder level for up to 5 minutes at a time.
