As a Claims Resolution Specialist, you'll play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex workers' compensation claims. Your expertise will help us ensure that our employees receive the support they need to return to work safely and efficiently.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Conduct thorough investigations of reported incidents to determine compensability under state requirements
* Maintain contact with injured employees, customers, and medical care providers to manage payment of benefits and mitigate exposure
* Reserve claims for expected exposure and document claim notes within our claim system
* Coordinate with injured employees and store personnel to facilitate return to work and light duty return to work
* Manage requests for authorization of medical care and oversee facilitation of medical care to ensure timely and appropriate treatment
* Utilize professional judgment and experience to reserve, handle, and resolve complex claims within authority
* Provide direction to defense attorneys, medical case managers, and private investigators as needed
**Requirements:**
* Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize complex claims
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to handle confrontational situations in a mature and professional manner
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ability to type 40 wpm
* Advanced knowledge of medical and legal terminology
* Previous workers' compensation claim handling experience
