Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including administering medications and positioning patients for optimal surgical access.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills to serve a diverse patient population, from infancy to geriatrics.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
  • Or, provides evidence of the successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military.
  • Level I- Entry level position for new graduates of Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologists with 0 to 18 months experience.
  • Level II- Requires 6 to 12 months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology or relevant military experience.
