Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

The Ultrasound Technologist II provides exceptional patient care by performing high-quality ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician to identify abnormalities leading to accurate patient diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare patients for exams.
- Utilize proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing exams on all ages of patients, from neonates to geriatrics, using appropriate protocols and following ACR guidelines.
- Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams, following ACR guidelines, while producing maximum diagnostic information in minimal time.
- Follow appropriate protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting events for quality, and maintaining a current QC program for ACR.
- Exhibit good safety practices in body substance protection, cleaning of equipment, using proper sterile techniques, and removing expired materials.
- Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
- ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry, with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Preferred qualifications include ultrasound experience.
