CT Imaging Specialist

Position Summary
- Conducts a range of specialized procedures related to the execution of CT imaging.
- Operates complex CT imaging systems and associated apparatus while adhering to established radiation safety protocols.
- Positions patients appropriately for CT imaging, utilizing necessary immobilization and protective gear.
- Supports radiologists during imaging tasks, including initiating IVs and administering contrast agents when required.
- Assists in interventional CT imaging procedures as needed.
- Reviews CT images for technical accuracy, organizes processed images in the correct order of exposure, and ensures proper labeling.
- Coordinates patient scheduling for imaging procedures and assists with administrative tasks.
- Records appropriate billing for procedures and materials used.
- Administers oral contrast to patients prior to CT imaging and operates power injectors for contrast media delivery.
- Keeps precise patient documentation.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to function independently.
- Capable of working effectively in high-pressure situations and responding appropriately.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Ancillary Services
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist credentials from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Registered Computed Tomographer certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Valid West Virginia license from the Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
