Position Overview

As a CT Imaging Specialist, your role will encompass a variety of specialized tasks related to performing computed tomography scans, operating advanced imaging equipment, and ensuring optimal patient care. You will be responsible for accurately positioning patients, collaborating with radiologists, and maintaining high standards of imaging quality.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute CT scans in accordance with established radiation safety protocols.
  • Accurately position patients utilizing necessary immobilization and protective devices.
  • Support radiologists during imaging and interventional procedures.
  • Initiate IVs and administer contrast media as required.
  • Assess and organize CT images to guarantee technical excellence.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and handle administrative duties associated with imaging tasks.
  • Record charges for services and materials utilized.
  • Provide oral contrast and manage power injections for contrast delivery.
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of patient documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong critical thinking abilities and the capacity to operate autonomously.
  • Adept at managing high-pressure situations and responding appropriately.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist and Registered Computed Tomographer credentials from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists are necessary within 2 years of training.
  • Possession of an active West Virginia license from the Board of Examiners of Radiologic Technologists is mandatory.
