Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing physical therapy programs aimed at helping clients enhance their mobility, alleviate pain, build strength, and prevent physical impairments. This role involves conducting assessments and interventions for clients affected by injuries or illnesses. The therapist will utilize various tools and techniques to deliver effective physical therapy while adhering to safety protocols. Accurate documentation of client information is essential for evaluation purposes, and the therapist will develop and adjust therapeutic plans as needed. Educating clients and their families about treatment plans and home exercises is a critical component of this role. Knowledge of age-appropriate treatments and evaluations is necessary to meet the diverse needs of clients.

The therapist may work with individuals across all age groups, addressing a range of diagnoses and disorders. Compliance with departmental documentation standards and regulatory requirements is expected. The therapist will demonstrate a level of treatment consistent with their area of expertise and follow established clinical practice guidelines.

Flexibility in accepting varying work schedules and assignments is essential. Participation in departmental promotional activities and collaboration with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and case managers, is encouraged. The therapist may supervise assistants and students in providing care and treatment, and will be expected to offer ongoing education and training to colleagues as directed by department leadership. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as needed.

Depending on facility needs, the therapist may focus on providing interventions in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care settings.

Qualifications

A relevant educational background is required in accordance with state licensure regulations.

Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the applicable state(s) is mandatory.

When applicable, a valid driver's license may be required.

Maintaining department-specific competencies and certifications is essential, including Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers, which must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
