As a Medical Laboratory Assistant at Redlands Community Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect venous blood samples from patients, both inpatients and outpatients, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Reporting to the Laboratory Support Service Coordinator and the Lab Administrative Team, you will be responsible for providing support services related to specimen collection and processing, including order processing and telephone response. Your ability to exercise professional judgment and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics will be essential in this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting venous blood samples from patients in a timely and efficient manner
- Providing support services related to specimen collection and processing
- Order processing and telephone response
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Phlebotomy Technician license for the state of California and have a minimum of one year of blood drawing experience. Current Management of Assaulted Behavior (MAB) certification is also required within six months of hire.
