Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant 2-Trainer is a key member of the Loma Linda University Health Care team, responsible for performing patient-oriented procedures and tasks at all LLUHC sites. This advanced/super user in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) supports new and ongoing training and education, ensuring seamless operations in front desk and clinical back-office settings.

As a preceptor/mentor, the MA 2-Trainer plays a vital role in the orientation/training period for new MA hires and students, as well as other clinical staff. This individual provides coverage to various LLUHC Departments as requested/required and performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a Graduate of a Credentialed or Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant (MA) program. A minimum of two years of Medical Assistant clinical experience and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user experience are preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
This role requires knowledge of outpatient clinic front office and back office practices and policies, as well as Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user skills. The ability to keyboard up to 40 wpm, read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality is essential.

Licensures and Certifications:
Clinical Medical Assistant (MA) certificate and Basic Life Support (BLS)- Provider Course certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) are required. Phlebotomy certification and a valid/current unrestricted California Driver's License are preferred.
