About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Perioperative Care: Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the proper handling and disposal of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Instrument Management: Maintain and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and readily available for use.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless communication and coordination during surgical procedures.
  • Patient Safety: Participate in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the surgical team to achieve common goals, providing support and assistance as needed to ensure the success of surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
  • Certification: Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience as a surgical technician in an ambulatory surgery center or similar setting.
