Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and commissioning phases of multiple cross-functional non-capital and capital construction projects ranging from $100K to $1.5MM. The primary focus is on establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, project controls, and completing projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Improve the design and performance of buildings and engineering systems, including new construction or alterations to existing space.
  • Oversee multiple projects from inception to completion, including defining scope and budget, compiling bid documents, budget reconciliation, value engineering, soliciting bids, awarding contracts, scheduling management, submittal review, project meetings, utility shutdown coordination, inspections, progress reports, payment review, change order negotiations, budget management, start-up, commissioning, and contract closeout, including warranty work.
  • Deliver projects that meet functional design requirements, are reliable, easily maintained, energy efficient, sustainable, and have a long operating life.
  • Negotiate, coordinate, and direct work of subcontractors, and develop strong working relationships with general contractor personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, stakeholders, and other related parties.
  • Highly skilled in budgeting and scheduling with strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Proven knowledge of energy systems, the built environment, governance, procurement, and generally versed in jurisdictional and architectural and engineering design requirements and applicable codes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, balancing competing priorities and multiple project assignments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to construction (i.e., engineering, architecture, construction).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction with emphasis in multiple complex, fast-track, and phased project delivery.
  • High degree of demonstrated organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Respect for details and the ability to execute at a high level with significant independence.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve both corporate and project goals.
  • Articulate communication skills – verbal, pictorial, and numerical.
  • Business acumen, demonstrated by understanding of business implications of decisions; orientation to profitability; knowledge of market and competition; and alignment of work with strategic goals.
  • Superior negotiating skills and a personable negotiator.
  • Leadership skills, demonstrated by confidence in self and others; ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well; and ability to effectively influence actions and opinions of others.
  • Problem-solving expertise, demonstrated by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner; working with others to solve complex issues.
  • Interpersonal skills, demonstrated by considering and responding appropriately to the needs and capabilities of different people in different situations; tactfulness; treating others with respect; and relating effectively to others when encountering difficult situations.
  • Strong computer skills in SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI, scheduling software such as MS Project.
  • PMP Certification.
  • LEED accreditation a plus.
  • Travel: Up to 25%.
