About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grocery Assistant to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our grocery department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide World-Class Customer Service as a top priority, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Inventory Management: Assist the Grocery Department Manager in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels, minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
  • Merchandising and Display: Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays to create an inviting and engaging shopping experience.
  • Operations: Assist in managing and participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training and monitoring of department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs.
