Position Overview

The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery, including front-end loaders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other operational equipment to support the overall functionality of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and perform maintenance on industrial machinery and maintain service records.
  • Repair and replace components of braking systems, engines, fuel systems, power trains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct tests on mechanical products and equipment post-repair to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate and inspect machinery to identify defects.
  • Interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy machinery using hoists and hand tools.
  • Overhaul and test equipment to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair subassemblies such as transmissions using appropriate tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify faults or malfunctions.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring tools.
  • Weld or solder components as necessary.
  • Manage parts inventory for repairs and services.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all facility vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Assemble gear systems and align machinery.
  • Fabricate parts from sheet metal as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance or two years of mechanical trade school training.
  • Proficiency in operating mobile equipment, such as front-end loaders and tractors/trailers.
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
