The city's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is responsible for protecting the environment and public health by providing high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing pollution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement city-wide sustainability objectives through the development of bureau-specific standards
  • Ensure sustainable infrastructure investments by monitoring regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • Track project key performance indicators and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making
  • Provide support services to engineering project teams and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve sustainability goals

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in legislative affairs and code enforcement, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with experience in using these tools to support sustainability initiatives
  • LEED and/or Envision accreditation, with a strong understanding of sustainable design principles
