Position Overview
We are in search of an innovative and analytical individual for the role of Makerspace Academic Advisor at Transformative Learning Technologies Lab. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about collaborating with educators to design and implement engaging learning experiences, ensuring our makerspace remains dynamic and fostering creative partnerships within the academic community.
Role Responsibilities
The Makerspace Academic Advisor will be tasked with delivering expertise, support, and access to technological resources and creative laboratories for faculty, staff, and students.
Key Duties Include:
- Providing technical and creative consultation for makerspace activities (30%)
- Managing the operations of the library makerspace, including oversight of equipment, software, and supplies (20%)
- Encouraging the utilization of the makerspace and nurturing its user communities through the development and facilitation of training programs and events (20%)
- Engaging in projects that explore the intersection of maker activities and emerging technologies (15%)
- Training and supervising select student workers, delegating tasks and overseeing project progress (10%)
- Addressing after-hours service requests related to the makerspace (5%)
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of one year of relevant experience is required. A Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Fine Arts, or Entrepreneurship, along with two years of pertinent experience, is preferred.
