Job Summary:

Ridgeview Medical Center is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our rehabilitation team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, evaluative, treatment, educational, and follow-up services to clients with speech, language, and swallowing problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess speech, language, and swallowing impairments.
  • Establish appropriate care plans and provide treatment interventions based on assessment findings.
  • Provide thorough documentation of patient interventions based on standards of practice for Speech/Language Pathologists (ASHA), and policies and procedures of RMC and Rehab Specialties and Home Care.
  • Communicate with appropriate persons (i.e. physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, staff, and insurance providers) to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
  • Assist Clinic Services Assistant to assure that patient interventions are properly scheduled and billed for.
  • Organize treatment environment, tools, supplies, documentation, resources, and procedures to maximize treatment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Ability to work independently and organize tasks.
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control, and maturity in work and behavior.
  • Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services.
  • Ability to change work locations with or without prior notification in order to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
  • Valid State of Minnesota registration as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
  • Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by ASHA.
  • CPR Certification.
