Job Description

Position Overview:

Sancorp Consulting LLC is seeking a skilled Nuclear and WMD Policy Analyst to support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (DASD NCWMD). This role is pivotal in shaping policy guidance and providing expert advice in the areas of nuclear weapons and countering weapons of mass destruction.

Location: National Capital Region (On-Site and Telework when authorized)

Employment Type: Full-Time Employee

Travel Requirements: Yes

Security Clearance: TS/(SCI eligible) clearance required; U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Educational Background:

A Master’s degree in a recognized social science, scientific, technical, management, or related field is required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant discipline related to project management and bilateral agreements.
  • 3 years of experience in WMD nonproliferation policy or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to research, interpret data, and formulate policy recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for producing clear reports, briefings, and diplomatic communications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience in managing complex initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of international arms control and non-proliferation treaties.
  • Experience collaborating with interagency partners and international stakeholders.
  • Background in the Department of Defense or a related governmental agency.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 years of expertise in a related discipline is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

The Nuclear and WMD Policy Analyst will:

  • Provide on-site support to the Cooperative Threat Reduction Policy Office (CTR), ensuring effective policy oversight and long-term planning.
  • Conduct regional and functional policy analysis to assess programs and activities with CTR partners.
  • Assist in the development and management of strategies and international agreements aimed at reducing WMD threats.
  • Define and articulate cooperative threat reduction policies while maintaining awareness of stakeholder policies.
  • Support the preparation of briefings and materials for leadership engagements with foreign delegations and other stakeholders.
  • Assist negotiation teams in finalizing agreements with CTR partner nations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) areas relevant to threat reduction initiatives.
  • Manage documentation related to bilateral treaties and multilateral conventions impacting CTR efforts.
  • Utilize strong analytical and communication skills to evaluate partner country regulations affecting CTR program execution.
