Job Title: Field Service Technician 2

Xylem, a leading global water technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician 2 to join our team. As a Field Service Technician 2, you will be responsible for installing and dismantling pumping systems and pipelines on customer job sites independently or as part of a crew.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and dismantle single pump systems and pipelines on customer job sites.
  • Identify different pump groups and understand basic use of each pump group.
  • Understand how a Prime Guard operates and priming systems, options, remote systems, and A-91 panels.
  • Apply proper measurements to HDPE pipe and calculate angles to ensure proper installation.
  • Understand and react to how weather conditions affect HDPE fusion.
  • Perform vacuum checks on installed pumping systems and properly sequence to break down pump systems and pipelines to avoid spills and/or contamination.
  • Safely utilize chain saws and other hand tools to properly cut and break down pipelines.
  • Thoroughly inspect and evaluate condition of pipe, hose, and fittings upon dismantling and notify supervisor or site supervisor if any equipment is damaged.
  • Prepare Bill of Ladings (BOLs) to load out equipment from job site and coordinate with dispatch to arrange proper timing of truck arrivals.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures and maintain a 'Safety First' approach when completing daily work tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school or general equivalency degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on construction or industrial work sites.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience fusing HDPE pipe using rolling fusion machines, track fusion machines, and barcode processors.
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy industrial equipment, i.e., telehandlers, skid steers, air tuggers, etc.
  • Familiar with side wall fusion and extrusion welding, process to weld in ditch and stitching, and 4710 resin fusion guidelines.
  • Ability to install valves, gate valves, manifolds, and tapping sleeves, level and install cribbing, vent and place drains as needed, install saddles, set single and multiple dip tubes, set floats and transducers, fill lines, test and check system for leaks on suction and discharge lines, start-up simple system, install freeze protection, and install a Wellpoint system.
  • Ability to read blueprints and complete basic math calculations (add, subtract, divide, and multiply).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers, and follow directions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to respond to customer emergencies and read and write legibly.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; Class A or B license preferred.
  • Fusion certification and forklift certification.
Work Environment:

Yard: Continual exposure to all outdoor weather conditions; exposure to noise and fumes generated from motorized equipment.

Travel: As required to fulfill the duties listed above. Other travel as needed or required by the company.
