Job Summary

SmartSearch, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, structures, and components that meet our high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design mechanical systems, structures, and components that meet our engineering best practices and performance standards.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Demonstrate creativity and strategic thinking in problem-solving, developing standards, and defining project objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Review designs for fit, function, and accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety standards and divisional standards.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and troubleshoot mechanical systems to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 4 or more years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering; machine design experience is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Drawing Development, GD&T, Welding Specifications, Document Control, Structural Steel, and Steel Fabrication.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hoists or hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor/Vault.
