Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Join the Shawnee Mission School District team as a Speech Language Pathologist, providing essential therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for implementing the district's curriculum to maximize student learning, supervising and evaluating students, and developing individualized treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long-range and daily plans that incorporate district and course curricular objectives.
  • Plan and implement individualized therapy sessions to address the needs of students.
  • Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations, and develop treatment programs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure student progress and success.
Requirements:
  • Valid Kansas License.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including district assessment data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual communication skills are valued.
Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a school setting, interacting with students, teachers, and other staff members. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Language Skills:

The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required. Bilingual communication skills are valued and may be required depending on the specific school and student population.
