Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Shawnee Mission School District. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for implementing the district curriculum in a way that maximizes student learning and providing therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders
  • Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations to identify students who require therapeutic services
  • Provide direct and indirect therapeutic services to students, including individual and group therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students with speech and language disorders
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Requirements
  • Valid Kansas License
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including district assessment data
  • Ability to effectively write detailed reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate well, verbally and in writing, with parents, patrons, staff, and students
  • Ability to speak in front of large and/or small groups
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual communication skills
