Position Overview:

As a Senior Assurance professional, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and execute fieldwork on audit assignments, as well as to plan, direct, and finalize audit engagements. You will also be tasked with training Assurance Staff in the field, delegating responsibilities, establishing time budgets, and supervising team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of professional standards and regulatory obligations, applying GAAP and GAAS principles as necessary, and effectively researching technical issues that arise during audit engagements.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive work paper documentation with minimal management intervention, including validating and testing substantive support and conducting analytical reviews of account balances.
  • Oversee staff during pre-audit planning and fieldwork for engagements, including risk assessments, preparation of audit programs, and evaluation and testing of internal controls and operational procedures.
  • Manage client relationships and assigned Assurance Staff to meet deadlines within budgeted timeframes.
  • Prepare all necessary financial statements and related disclosures, ensuring quality, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client's business operations.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with staff, superiors, and clients, serving as the first point of contact for basic client inquiries.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry developments and ensure ongoing professional development through continuous education. Provide formal and informal training to Assurance department personnel.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues to Managers and Partners as necessary.
  • Participate in overseeing staff and conducting reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedure engagements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Several years of experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Solid understanding of audit services, including knowledge of FASB regulations, GAAS, and GAAP.
  • CPA certification is preferred or demonstrated progress toward obtaining certification, with active pursuit of the required exams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
