Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

RapidCrew Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality Assurance department in collaboration with Research and Development to enhance and manage the company's SQF, FSMA, and quality/safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Representation:
    • Act as the company representative with regulatory agencies, including the FDA, Health Department, Sanitation District, and State Water Board.
  • Quality and Food Safety Programs:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor quality and food safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Serve as SQF practitioner, HACCP coordinator, Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), and recall coordinator.
  • Certifications Management:
    • Oversee SQF, Kosher, and Organic certifications.
    • Manage product release processes and address non-conformance of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Food Safety and Quality Goals:
    • Provide guidance to achieve food safety and quality objectives.
    • Facilitate communication with various departments to maintain and improve product safety and quality.
  • Management Systems:
    • Administer quality and food safety management systems aligned with business goals.
    • Conduct food safety audits and manage internal and external audit programs for SQF and FSMA compliance.
  • Monitoring and Verification:
    • Ensure all products meet quality and food safety standards.
    • Regularly update food safety procedures to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution:
    • Manage and resolve customer complaints efficiently.
    • Collaborate with Procurement to address supplier-related quality or safety issues.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire, train, and supervise QA/QC, sanitation, and R&D staff.
    • Mentor team members to enhance their skills and competencies.
  • Industry Representation:
    • Represent the company at trade associations, industry forums, and relevant governmental meetings.
  • Process Approval and Recommendations:
    • Approve process methods and product specifications.
    • Stay informed about national and international food regulations, scientific literature, and technological advancements.
  • Pathogen Monitoring:
    • Oversee the Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program and conduct chemical and microbiological testing.
  • Nutritional and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Prepare and review documentation for nutrition and regulatory compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Lead R&D projects, working with cross-functional teams to execute new product development.
  • New Product Development:
    • Research and incorporate new flavors, ingredients, and processes.
    • Create and edit formulas and specifications for new and existing products.
  • Software Management:
    • Manage nutritional and label software, ensuring proper setup of new items.

Substitution:

In the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager, responsibilities may be assumed by the Sr. QA Supervisor, COO, or CEO for high-level decisions.
