The Marine Service Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and rectifying issues with boats and engines, in addition to executing routine maintenance and performing quality assurance checks on completed tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Customer Engagement: Communicate effectively with the Service Writer regarding diagnostics, necessary repairs, and cost estimates. Ensure all services are completed accurately on the first attempt and within the agreed timeframe.
- Sales Support: Provide the Service Writer with precise reports detailing time spent and work completed, and inform them of any additional required services on a client's vessel.
- Team Collaboration: Foster and maintain productive working relationships with marina staff across all departments.
- Resource Management: Keep marina tools and equipment in optimal condition. Aim to meet or surpass flat rate time expectations. Use shop supplies efficiently.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, utilize protective equipment, and uphold a tidy workspace.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest technical service updates and participate in online and factory training as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Marine Technician
- Marine Technician Certification or Degree is highly advantageous
- Exemplary attitude, good health, and physical agility
