Job Overview

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Operate a liquefied gas-powered forklift to efficiently transport products and materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified candidates must possess the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to execute the following tasks:

  • Utilize levers and pedals to maneuver the forklift and manage the lifting mechanism.
  • Move pallets of finished or unfinished goods to and from the production area, adhering to established routines to ensure a steady supply of materials.
  • Position forks beneath loaded pallets, skids, boxes, or materials and transport them to designated locations as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Unload and stack items by elevating and lowering the lifting device.
  • Remove tickets from unfinished product pallets and document production details for the supervisor.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off trucks and deliver them to the appropriate area.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on the forklift and replace the liquefied gas tank as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Less than a high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed written or oral instructions and manage standardized situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must successfully complete a background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
  • Demonstrated positive and verifiable work history.
  • Must obtain and maintain an OSHA-approved forklift certification.
  • Completion of the EPA/DNR Hazardous Waste Handling and Storage training program is required.
