Mental Health Associate Psychiatry Contingent Nights at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital - Competitive Salary: $55,000-$65,000 per year

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Associate to join our team at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide high-quality care to mental health patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to patients requiring intensive care.
  • Facilitate group teaching and task-oriented sessions, monitor patient behavior, and assist with restraint and seclusion procedures as needed.
  • Document patient observations, including mental status, response to treatment interventions, and intensity of services provided.
  • Collaborate with professional staff to complete court petitions, accompany patients to court, and testify to substantiate the need for court-ordered treatment.
  • Communicate patient status updates to the healthcare team.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two years of college study in behavioral health or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with mentally ill patients. You should possess strong analytical skills, high-level interpersonal and clinical abilities, and the capacity to read, understand, and apply written documentation of behavioral observations and group processes. Additionally, you should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and manage stress associated with a mental health setting.
