Medical Scheduler Specialist

About the Role:
Pain And Spine Physicians Surgery C is seeking a skilled Medical Scheduler Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procedures and surgeries.
Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with patients, visitors, and medical professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring schedules and organizing patient flow for physician procedures and surgeries
- Verifying patient information, insurance coverage, and obtaining authorizations and financial responsibility prior to procedures/surgery
- Communicating status of upcoming procedures to patients
- Answering emails and voicemails and returning patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
- Answering patient calls related to scheduling
- Greeting and checking patients in
- Occasionally providing front/back office support by assisting with non-clinical patient calls or administrative work
- Abiding by and promoting HIPAA compliance; maintaining strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Assisting with other projects designated by the Practice Manager or other members of management
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing, verification, collections, and/or authorizations. Additionally, they should possess the ability to deal with patients, visitors, co-workers, and physicians with courtesy and respect. They should also display a professional outgoing and helpful attitude. Plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks as delegated by the Prior Authorization Specialist. Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-person.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
