Job Summary

The ERP Project Manager at Pacific Seafood is a critical role responsible for coordinating multiple team members across the company's three divisions (Processing, Aquaculture, and Distribution), IT, and Central Finance/Accounting, to develop, test, train, and implement our new SAP s/4 Hana system on time and on budget, while meeting each phase's specific goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Plan each aspect of the ERP Project at a level of detail appropriate to the type of work, number of resources, project complexity, and risk and timeline.
    • Utilize modern project management tools such as Smartsheet and Microsoft Teams and maintain an overall WBS/Gantt for the project.
    • Define and understand project roles and ensure team members are operating within their roles.
    • Manage workstreams and activities.
    • Plan and direct resource allocations.
    • Manage project budgets.
    • Maintain a project methodology and ensure it is followed.
    • Oversee testing, operations readiness, training, go live planning, and optimization.
    • Ensure the orderly transition of support to the appropriate department and function.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Work with the ERP Steering Committee and leadership to understand and prioritize project goals.
    • Maintain a project guidelines document defining expected practices for those participating in the project, including communications and decision making.
    • Identify needed project resources and work with leadership to source them.
    • Assign work, ensure it is understood, monitor work status, and utilization of key resources.
    • Identify the need for, schedule, and facilitate the necessary meetings and work sessions.
    • Determine the meetings needed, facilitate those involving project-centric subjects, and document meeting discussions, decisions, and actions.
  • Team Support and Issue Resolution:
    • Counsel team members with their resource load.
    • Identify and address resource gaps.
    • Detect and resolve team issues. Report issues to team members' supervisors and work with other team members to resolve them.
    • Creatively develop solutions to problems.
  • Reporting and Governance:
    • Report project status to the team and summarize project status to management.
    • Participate in project governance sessions.
    • Manage and report on budget and timeline, including identifying for the Steering Committee items that will have a material impact on budget/timeline so there is transparency and accountability, and decisions are made with full view of impact on the project.
    Requirements
    • Proven track record of managing large ERP projects.
    • Experience with production and warehouse operations.
    • Ability to demonstrate use of modern project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Collaborative environments such as MS Teams, etc.
    • Proficient with the Microsoft office environment.
    • Self-directed.
    • Ability to manage multiple workstreams at once.
    • Strong follow-through skills.
    • Good written and spoken English language.
    • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
    • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.
    • Must have a valid driver's license and be available to drive to off-campus facilities on occasion.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with food processing and distribution.
