Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the construction of fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate project requirements with Electrical Contractors, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.
  • Review and manage construction contract documents, including addendums and RFIs.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.
  • Identify and manage changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.
  • Submit and review change orders and change estimates in a timely manner.
  • Forecast manpower requirements for projects.
  • Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintain a positive cash flow.
  • Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each project.
  • Continually monitor progress of projects and review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines.
  • Review construction drawings and assist/lead during the field check stage of the project.
  • Oversee the work of subcontractors and ensure compliance with codes, permits, and AHJ requirements.
  • Administer construction contracts, approve work quality, and payment requests.
  • Report to Electrical Contractors, General Contractors, and Owners about progress and any necessary modifications required.
  • Attend and/or lead construction/coordination meetings with Electrical Contractors, GCs, and Subcontractors.
  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure the company is meeting customer expectations.
  • Develop positive relationships with AHJs and potential new customers.
  • May also conduct surveying, estimating, and design functions.
  • May require field/site visits and traveling for work.
  • Maintain historical records of all functions for future use.
  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices.

Requirements:

  • Construction Management/Engineering/Business degree preferred.
  • 4 years of construction-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, engineering, management, and/or experience preferred.
  • High level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and phases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and reference check.
  • A valid Driver's License.
