Core Faculty, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Specialist

Adler University is seeking a highly qualified Core Faculty, Clinical Mental Health Counseling to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, you will be responsible for teaching master's level counseling courses, supervising practicum/internship students, and advising and mentoring CMHC students.
Responsibilities- Teach on-ground master's level counseling courses across the curriculum, including supervising practicum/internship students.
- Advise and mentor CMHC students in the on-ground modality.
- Engage in student retention, professional development, and remediation efforts.
- Participate in institutional and departmental committees and meetings.
- Support and commit to programmatic, departmental, and institutional mission and initiatives.
- Support accreditation process and requirements.
- Participate in program evaluation and data collection and analysis process.
- Participate in admissions process of new students and related initiatives.
- Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision required; Graduates of CACREP accredited program preferred.
- Experience teaching master's level counseling courses across the curriculum, and supervision of practicum/internship students required.
- Preferences will be given to those who have clinical experiences in the community, and experienced in teaching Research & Program Evaluation, Addiction Counseling, Assessment/Appraisal, and Career Counseling.
- Licensed in Illinois, or eligibility for and attainment of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Licensure (LCPC) within one year of appointment.
- Knowledge of and content expertise/competency in diversity, social justice, etc.
- Ability to leverage influence to drive change and influence stakeholders.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving acumen.
- Ability to proactively identify challenges and barriers to stated objectives and employ assistance in addressing these.
- Strong collaboration acumen and abilities.
- Demonstration of Emotional Intelligence and professional maturity.
- Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong research acumen and abilities.
- Strong communication acumen including written, oral, and listening.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
