General Overview:
As a vital member of the senior management team, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will engage in operational decision-making processes crucial for achieving the hospital's mission while staying informed about healthcare developments that may influence the hospital's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with system management to formulate and execute policies, procedures, and both short- and long-term objectives and plans.
- Provide strategic leadership to hospital managers, directors, and officers, fostering support, ownership of objectives, and active involvement in decision-making that affects the hospital.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with the local community and its leaders.
- Oversee all facets of the organization's policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Accountable for the facility's profitability in both the short and long term.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in meeting regulatory and compliance standards as well as quality accreditations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Responsible for the administrative functions of leading the department/team, including budgeting, time management, staff evaluations, and expense approvals.
Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- Master's degree in hospital administration or business administration.
- Proven track record of successful executive leadership in a healthcare setting, including building relationships with board members, physicians, hospital staff, and the community.
- Prior experience as a hospital CEO is mandatory.
Travel Requirements:
Travel may be necessary.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Typical conditions associated with an office environment. While performing essential duties, the employee is frequently required to communicate effectively, sit, stand, or walk. The role involves moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work, as well as the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work may occur.
