Position: Youth Employment Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our mission of empowering young people with disabilities. As a Youth Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in guiding students aged 14-22 through their career exploration and development journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary focus will be to deliver tailored services to students enrolled in our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program. You will work with individuals and groups to provide support in the following areas:

  • Career exploration and guidance
  • Experiential learning opportunities
  • Preparation for workplace environments
  • Training in self-advocacy skills
  • Counseling for post-secondary education options

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, although significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Familiarity with WIOA regulations pertaining to Pre-ETS and transition planning
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
