Role Overview:
In collaboration with the clinical team, the Patient Support Coordinator delivers exceptional customer service by managing patient flow and ensuring effective communication among patients, healthcare providers, practice managers, and clinic personnel.
The Coordinator serves as a vital link for communication, overseeing treatment completion, promoting oral health initiatives, and enhancing patient engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily scheduling to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure patient charts are organized and ready for appointments.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to maintain adequate inventory of patient products.
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls as necessary.
- Build strong relationships with patients by providing accurate information and addressing inquiries regarding their treatment plans.
Work closely with the clinical team to improve patient understanding of dental procedures and treatment options.
- Coordinate care by scheduling recalls, referrals, and responding to patient questions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
- Friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Experience in a medical or dental setting is preferred, with knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications and cash handling procedures.
- Strong customer service skills, conflict resolution abilities, and effective communication with patients and team members.
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret guidelines accurately and adapt to changing work schedules.
- Flexibility to work at different locations temporarily when required.
