Job Overview: As the primary support in the kitchen, the Kitchen Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the hourly kitchen staff, stepping in as the Kitchen Manager when necessary. This role involves filling cooking positions to ensure smooth kitchen operations. The Supervisor will manage timekeeping for all kitchen staff, including clock-ins, breaks, and clock-outs. Participation in line-checks is essential to guarantee kitchen readiness for service and to manage clean-up duties, ensuring the kitchen is properly closed at the end of the day. During busy periods, the Supervisor will act as the lead expeditor, consistently guiding and mentoring kitchen staff in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate personnel records for all hourly kitchen staff, ensuring each file contains all relevant documentation.
  • Achieve certification in all kitchen stations, with a requirement for new hires to complete certifications within a specified timeframe.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and cost management.
  • Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring adherence to established par levels for inventory.
  • Expedite orders during peak service times, collaborating with the team to minimize ticket times and ensure quality food preparation.
  • Follow and enforce recipe specifications for food preparation and service.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Assist in setting daily par lists and verify completion to prepare for service.
  • Support the Kitchen Manager in training and developing kitchen staff, participating in performance reviews.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks of food and supplies in the kitchen.

  • Strong knowledge of professional cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Previous supervisory experience with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays.
